July Favourites

Words cannot describe how happy I am that it's finally summer! I am actually currently on a much-needed holiday in Morocco, but I wrote this favourites post in advance so I could still round-up all of the products I've been loving this month. I'm planning to do some holiday diary and outfit posts when I get back, so keep an eye out for those during August (or even better, follow me on Bloglovin' so you don't miss out!)

The first thing I have to mention is my nude heeled sandals* from Shoe Zone, which were sent to me for my Summer Style Series posts (1: Casual, 2: Formal, 3: Beach) but I have been living in during my day-to-day life too! The heel is high enough to make my legs look fantastic, but low enough to make them practical to wear every day. They go with pretty much every outfit, and are a lovely way to dress up an otherwise casual outfit, such as skinny jeans and a loose jersey tee.

Secondly, I've been looking for a delicate face scrub to keep my skin smooth while not irritating any blemishes I may have. I found the Garnier Charcoal Scrub on sale in Boots and have been loving it ever since! The scrubbing beads are really tiny and the formula is meant to reduce blemishes and marks such as acne scars, so it is perfect for my problem skin.

One of my staple summer lipsticks is definitely the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds formula in the shade Blake. It is a true bright red, perfect for adding a pop of colour to a natural, dewy everyday summer make-up look.

An absolute essential to everyone all year round but especially during the summer months is a good facial SPF to keep your skin healthy and prevent future wrinkles. I have found the KIKO Photo-Age Sunscreen Cream SPF 30 to work really well with my combination skin, protecting it without breaking me out as some oilier formulae do.

Before I went on holiday, I was using the Dove Summer Glow Lotion as a body moisturiser, just to give me a hint of healthy colour. It is very subtle as long as you rub it in evenly all over, and only transfers onto bedsheets if you go to bed straight after application. I would recommend exfoliating well before using, as it tends to cling to any dry patches and look darker in these areas.

Finally, I thought I'd include this bouquet of beautiful carnations which my boyfriend surprised me with this week when he arrived at out coffee date. I am a huge sucker for spontaneous gestures, and I was smiling all day! I think it's such a lovely thing to have fresh flowers in your room, as it makes it look fresher and more alive.
