This is the second installment of my Summer Style Series, bringing together outfits for all summer occasions. As summer is typically known as "wedding season", I decided it would be silly not to include a formal outfit. I went for something quite cool and airy, but if you prefer to be a little more covered up then you could always wear a sleeved shirt or jacket and a longer skirt.
Working from the top down, I tied my hair up into a ballerina bun to keep it off my face and neck, as my hair is quite long and thick and can get really hot in the summer. Top-knots are so versatile, because you can wear them messy for a casual look or neatly for a more polished finish.
I think Primark is great for statement necklaces because personally I only ever wear them a few times so the quality doesn't matter too much (I'm much more of an understated, simple jewellery person). I love the pastel colours in this one, which bring out the baby pink of my skirt.
My vest is also from Primark, as I originally bought it just to wear on the beach. However, the crochet back detail is so gorgeous that I couldn't resist putting it in this outfit! It may not always be appropriate to wear such a strappy vest at a formal gathering, so you could switch this piece for a white chiffon top or wear a tailored jacket.
I bought this dusty pink lace skirt in New Look a while back, but never found an opportunity to wear it due to not being so confident about my legs. It is a beautiful piece with lovely lace detail and a scalloped hem, so I think I need to get out of my comfort zone and wear it!
My rose gold watch is from DKNY and was a present from my mum for my GCSE results. I wear it everyday anyway but I wanted to mention it because the rose gold complements the pink lace.
The shining star of this outfit, however, has got to be my nude heeled sandals* from Shoe Zone. I have been wearing them practically every day since they were sent to me, whether it be with boyfriend jeans and a loose jersey top or floaty summer dresses. I think a nude heel is an essential staple in any girl's wardrobe, as they are so easy to just slip on and instantly dress up an outfit. I love these in particular as the heel isn't too high so I can actually wear them out and about without being in pain.
