5 steps to a Perfect Body

This post is not going to be another list of things you should and shouldn't do to get a "perfect" body from somebody who thinks they know the secret to achieving the impossible. This post contains the 5 essential things your body must do to be functioning, healthy and perfect. As long as your body does these things, you can let go of any concerns you may have over the appearance of certain areas as they don't affect your ability to live your life.

Pinterest Favourites

I've been getting into Pinterest a lot more recently, and I use it alongside Tumblr to give me inspiration for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and more. It's a lovely way to collect photos and articles together and organise them by theme for easy access! I thought I'd share with you a few of my favourite pins so you can get a feel for the kind of things I find inspiring. If you'd like to see more of the same kind of thing as shown below, you can follow me on Pinterest!

Hair

For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I am umming and ahhing about having my long blonde hair chopped into a "lob" (partly because I am super lazy and my hair takes a LOT of effort to maintain!) I am persuading myself further and further, and created a Pinterest board dedicated solely to gorgeous, effortless, simple photographs of shorter hair.

Fashion

If you hadn't already guessed, I am absolutely in love with Parisian street style, so I have a whole board devoted to my favourite French fashion!

Beauty

I really love natural, glowing, effortless make-up with a feature such as red lips or liquid eyeliner.

Home

I really love thinking about the future, especially when it comes to the lifestyle I want to have! I love minimalist home decor because it's so calm, organised and stress-free. I can't wait to have a wardrobe as simple and organised as these ones!

Travel

I can't wait to see the world, so I keep track of the places I want to visit on my "Wanderlust" board! These photos are of Belgium, Paris and Florence. I seem to be drawn to European cities the most!

Blair Waldorf

Naturally, I had to create a board entirely dedicated to my favourite character in my favourite TV show!

I hope you liked this collection of some of my favourite pins! Remember to follow me if you aren't already for regular updates about what is inspiring me!

Afternoon Tea at Cocorico Patisserie, Cardiff

A few weekends ago, my family and I went for Afternoon Tea at Cocorico Patisserie. There was no special occasion, but we had been wanting to try it out for ages so finally decided to book in! On arrival, we were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. I have a soft spot for the staff as they know I study French so always make sure to put my skills to the test!

My Lucky Day

I'm one of those people who never expects to win anything, but enters everything anyway telling myself "Why not? It could be my lucky day!" That lucky day finally came around when Kara from Abracadabra Girl emailed me to let me know I had won her blog's 1 year giveaway. I was excited enough to have just won something, let alone this extremely generous selection of products!

FREE CAKE!

Recently Bakerdays emailed me, asking if I'd like to try one of their Letterbox cakes and also give one away to one of my readers. Obviously I jumped at the chance, because who doesn't love cake?! (plus calories totally don't count if you haven't paid for it yourself) It came in a package small enough to fit through my letterbox, which I think is such a fantastic idea as you can just post someone a cake for a special occasion or if they're just feeling down!

Style Icon: Clémence Poésy

I'm sure most peoples' first encounter with Clémence Poésy was when she starred as Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter, the Triwizard Tournament champion from Beauxbatons. I remember being completely entranced by her effortless style, and not much has changed! She also played Eva Coupeau in Gossip Girl, my favourite TV show, and she managed to radiate the same simplicity and elegance as she did in Harry Potter, and does in her day-to-day life. She never fails to look completely perfect, even when her signature style is messy, unbrushed hair and not a scrap of make-up. Her fashion sense is typically French, very sophisticated, simple and refined. I love pretty much everything about Clémence Poésy and really look to her for style inspiration!

Day to Night: Black Stiletto Ankle Boots

As soon as these gorgeous Stiletto Ankle Boots* from Shoe Zone arrived on my doorstep, I was ridiculously excited to style them. They're classic and sophisticated, and I can picture myself wearing them with so many different outfits! I wanted to write a 'day to night' post to show you guys just how versatile a good pair of black ankle boots can be, as they are the perfect wardrobe staple for any occasion.

For my daytime look, I paired the boots with my Topshop Joni jeans, Warehouse striped polo-neck (similar) and Debenhams trench. This is such a simple but stylish outfit, and I would class all of the items as staples in my wardrobe, as they can be dressed up or down with anything. I topped off the look with my H&M floppy hat, which I mentioned in my April Favourites.

To transition the look to night, all I had to do was swap the trench for my Mango leather jacket (another wardrobe staple!), add a red cashmere scarf to keep me warm, throw my hair up into a ponytail and apply a coat of my KIKO frosted lipstick in 04

This day to night combination would be so convenient if you only had a few minutes to get yourself ready for an evening after spending the day out, as it doesn't involve struggling out of your jeans or trying to get a top over your head without ruining your hair and make-up. It's amazing how much you can change a look by simply swapping outerwear and accessories! I try to keep quite a minimalist wardrobe of clothes that can be worn in a variety of ways, so I hardly ever wear the same outfit twice or in the same way, keeping my fashion choices stylish and exciting but also affordable!

I thought I'd include a few closer shots of the boots so you can really appreciate how lovely they are! For stilettos, I found them remarkably comfortable and I think I could manage short distances and standing in them, which is more than can be said for a lot of my shoe collection! I love their elegant pointed toe and the curve of the sole, and I think the gold zip adds a bit of detail to set them apart from your average black boot.

I couldn't really not include this photo as I look so intensely excited, but I hope you liked the outfits I put together! Let me know if you'd like me to do more fashion posts like this one, and I'll get on it in the summer after my exams!

April in Photos

I love looking back over all my Instagram photos every month to put this post together for you, it reminds me of all the fantastic things I've done in such a small space of time! I'm feeling really content with life right now, despite being hugely stressed for my A levels, as I feel like I finally know the direction I want to go in terms of university and my career. It's amazing what a difference it makes to have something to work towards! I'm really looking forward to getting through my exams and spending the summer doing work experience and taking lots of time over the photos and text for my blog posts, as well as having some much needed relaxation time and hanging out with my friends.
