Waterloo Tea in Wyndham Arcade

I can honestly say that Waterloo Tea is hands-down my all-time favourite cafĂ©. That is an extremely bold statement to make, for someone who spends far more of their life in coffee shops than they like to admit. Whether I'm at their original Pen-y-lan branch or their new place in Wyndham Arcade, whether I'm stopping in for breakfast, lunch, tea & cake or afternoon tea, they never fail to impress me with their amazing selection of food & drink  and their friendly service.

Recently, I took my mum & aunty to Wyndham Tea for a spot of lunch before we spent our afternoon exploring the exhibitions in Cardiff Museum. I ordered the Sticky Asian Chicken Salad (£9) with my usual Vanilla Black Tea (£3). It was my first time trying this salad as I am completely in love with their Courgette Linguine (£7) which I usually never stray from. However, I'm glad I tried something new as it really reassured me that everything on their menu is absolutely delicious, not just the dish I regularly ordered. To be honest, I didn't know a chicken salad could possibly pack in that much flavour! It was sweet, salty and spicy all at once, with marinated chicken, salted peanuts and a cheeky chilli and lime dressing on the side.
My mum ordered the raw tacos (£7) which she thoroughly enjoyed and I would have ordered too if I liked avocado! My aunty ordered the purple sprouting broccoli dish (£7.50) and having never been to Waterloo Tea before, she was extremely excited and complimentary about the entire experience.

I'd really recommend popping into any of Waterloo Tea's branches if you find yourself peckish in Cardiff, or just in need of a really decent cup of tea. They have never disappointed me, even with me being a self-confessed cake enthusiast and know-it-all! I go there so often that I'm convinced the staff have an inside joke about the sheer amount of cake and food in general that I consume on their premises.
