Summer Nights

On a sunny day recently, my friends and I decided to drive down to Ogmore beach and spend the evening watching the sunset with a barbeque and good company. I really love getting out of the city on days like these and just appreciating the world around me, as well as the friends I am lucky to have.

I wore some cut off Levi's and a blue and white striped shirt with my navy Abercrombie jumper thrown over the top in case I got chilly (which I inevitably did as soon as we arrived). We settled next to some rocks and got the barbeques going and put some music on while chatting away in the sunshine.

We had a few drinks and my boyfriend and I went for a romantic wander down to the sea, which I was hoping to paddle in but changed my mind when I felt how icy cold it was!

I was absolutely ravenous and protected these salt & vinegar Pringles as if they were my first born child. Thankfully we managed to cook some food on the barbeque, and I had chargrilled chicken breast while everyone else tucked in to burgers (I'm not a huge fan of beef).

I had a lovely evening and it really made me reflect on appreciating the little things in life and taking a step back to enjoy myself and focus on being happy. All too often, the stress of day-to-day life gets on top of me and I forget all the things in life there are to be grateful for. I'm looking forward to summer 2015 and making memories with all of the special people in my life.
I fell asleep in the car on the way back (which says something about Richard's great driving as I tend to be a light sleeper!) with my head on Owen's shoulder and Bastille's Oblivion playing in the background, which was the perfect end to a perfect evening.
