June Favourites

I was hoping June would provide me with a well-needed break after sitting my AS levels along with loads of other busy things in May, but it has been another crazy month! I've been writing my personal statement for UCAS which has been so stressful as it reminded me how little time I have left of being a child with no responsibilities before I head off to university and adulthood. I also was successful in applying to the Hilton as an events waitress, so now I have lots and lots of long evening shifts (although I get to do proms and parties and weddings so I'm super excited!)

You probably know by now that I am a complete bookworm, and this month I have been reading Wuthering Heights. It's a bit different to my usual read, as I have never really got into classical fiction and tend to stick to newer classics such as 1984, Lord of the Flies and Catcher in the Rye. However, I think this book is beautifully written and really takes you back in time!
For a self-confessed lipstick obsessive, it may surprise you that I made my first ever MAC lipstick purchase this month! I have heard fantastic things about their pigmentation and durability, so it was only a matter of time before I caved in. I opted for their matte formula in the shade Chili, which is a beautiful orange-red, almost terracotta (this photo doesn't do it justice!) I absolutely adore it and it's perfect for summer, and I can't wait to pick up more colours!
I've already written about Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze and Glow on this blog (read here) but I have been using it so often this month that I couldn't not include it in my favourites! I have learnt to love the highlight shade after my initial first impression, so now it is definitely my must-have contour palette!
My skin has been behaving well recently, but for any pesky little spots I have been loving pampering myself with the Cosmetic Warrior face mask from Lush! It can be a little difficult to apply due to its lumpy consistency but the results are definitely worth it!
When wandering through Primark I spotted some gorgeous rose gold coloured aviator sunglasses and for £2 I couldn't leave them on the shelf! They make a nice, more relaxed change to my usual "don't talk to me" sunglasses.
Finally, I've had my eyes open for a new bag for college next year. I wanted a backpack because carrying books and folders on one shoulder just doesn't work for me, but I wasn't willing to sacrifice style for comfort on this occasion as bags are some of my favourite accessories. I found this gorgeous dusty pink backpack in Accessorize, half price from £35, so I just had to get it! I'm hoping it will fit all of my things in without breaking, as I do tend to carry far too much around.
