5 steps to a Perfect Body

This post is not going to be another list of things you should and shouldn't do to get a "perfect" body from somebody who thinks they know the secret to achieving the impossible. This post contains the 5 essential things your body must do to be functioning, healthy and perfect. As long as your body does these things, you can let go of any concerns you may have over the appearance of certain areas as they don't affect your ability to live your life.



It breathes

Underneath those boobs you are constantly fretting over - whether they are too small or too big, whether you're going to wear a push-up bra or get a boob job - there are two very important organs. Lungs. Without these, your brain wouldn't have the oxygen it needs to be able to worry about all of the tiny insignificant things it does.

Its heart beats

You may think that after a break-up your heart will be forever shattered into a million tiny pieces, but in reality it's freaking resilient. It works constantly, even when you're still lazing around in bed at noon on a Sunday, and it deserves some appreciation.

It fights illness

Your body is awesome at kicking out any unwanted nasties that lurk around it. Just like you should kick out any people from your life who pressure you to look a certain way. Think of it as your outer white blood cells doing their thing.

It has skin

Without skin, your body would just be a pile of blood and bones and guts all over the floor. I'm all about the "everyone is beautiful" thing but that would be taking it too far, even for me. We constantly fret about scars, stretch marks, acne, hyper-pigmentation, freckles, the list could go on, which means we don't stop and think how important just having skin is.

It turns food into energy

If you are/have ever been on a diet where you're trying to consume as little as physically possible, think about this. Food is only a carrier for the energy your body needs in order to function - to breathe, to have a heartbeat, to fight illness, to walk around town with your friends, to run after your (future) children, and so many more things. Plus it tastes awesome. Stop worrying about your weight and start thinking about the best way to nourish your body for its optimum performance in life.
