August Favourites

August has absolutely flown by and I can't believe it's already time to go back to college! I've had a proper "sorting my life out" kind of month; clearing out and reorganising my room, getting through my huge book pile, working out and eating properly. As well as that, I have made some fantastic memories with my closest friends, including drinking a little bit too much champagne at my results day gathering and having a great night! If any of you are wondering, I got 4 A's in my AS levels, in French, Maths, Philosophy and English Literature, surprising even myself! I'm planning to work just as hard (if not harder) next year to keep my grades up and get into my university of choice.

Although I received the Naked 2 Palette in May for my birthday, I haven't had the guts to actually break into it until this month because it was just too perfect! However, what's the point in owning one of the most gorgeous eyeshadow palettes on earth if you're not going to use it?! I love to use Bootycall as a base and layer it over with Half Baked or Chopper for an everyday look, and adding a darker shade to my outer corner and crease to make the look more intense for the night-time.

Along with sorting my life out, I have also been sorting my skin out by cutting down on sugar and taking more time to do my skincare routines. I absolutely adore the LUSH Cosmetic Warrior face mask for instantly making my skin look clearer and calming down any blemishes I have.

Another product from LUSH I have been obsessed with ever since I saw it at their Summer Product Launch is the Pink Flamingo Bubble Bar. It lasts for around 7 baths, smells of strawberry jelly and turns the water bubblegum pink, so what's not to love?

This month Rimmel released a whole new line to add to their "By Kate" collection which I already swore by as my favourite drugstore products. These nude lipsticks are perfectly subtle and look great with a bold eye or if you're going "au naturale".

I ran out of my Soap & Glory Scrub of your Life body scrub, so I decided to try out another one of their scrubs to see if it was just as good and to have a bit of a change in scent. The Breakfast Scrub is possibly my favourite smelling product ever, with notes of oats, almonds, brown sugar and honey, literally all of the best things in life.

With exceptionally long, thick hair down to my bum, I used to swear by the tangle teezer to keep it tame but I have recently found a brush which I love even more. I ordered the Wet Brush on Amazon after reading the reviews and I have not been disappointed. The slim handle and regular brush shape makes it far easier to hold than the tangle teezer and I can actually get it through my hair?!?! I don't know how to explain the kind of magic that goes on when you brush your hair with this, but it really is magic!

PLEASE READ: I am going back to sixth-form college for my A2 year today and am trying to work out a blogging schedule which won't interfere with my studies, job and social life. I'm going to try out reducing my posts to once a week, on a Saturday at 11am, so I can keep up the quality of my content and avoid overworking myself (which I am aware I probably already do). Please let me know in the comments if you think this is a good idea, and be honest if you think it isn't!
