Bblonde Maximum Ombré Kit* Review

I've been thinking about lightening my hair for some time, but it wasn't until after I got 16 inches cut off for charity that I could really physically do it, as it would have been a mammoth struggle when my hair was all the way down to my bum! I wasn't quite ready to lighten my hair all over, and I don't have the spare time to deal with retouching my roots, so I decided to try out ombré to refresh and brighten my hair for the New Year.

As my hair is naturally dark blonde, I decided to use the Bblonde Maximum Ombré Kit* in the shade No.2 for blonde to medium brown hair. The kit came with an application brush, a mixing bowl, gloves, a blending lotion, a liquid & powder to mix together for the lightener and a shampoo/conditioner for afterwards. So, I literally had everything I needed to achieve my final ombré result (apart from two very willing friends!)

After mixing the bleach provided, my friends sectioned my hair into manageable layers. They decided to do it slightly differently to the instructions and lay my hair out onto a clipboard in layers in order to keep the colour even all the way around my head.

They applied the blending lotion to the highest area they wanted to lighten, so the colour would fade out into my natural hair colour, and then started painting the bleach onto the ends of my hair. They made each stroke a slightly different length in order to make the final result look more natural, as if my hair had just caught the sun.

They clingfilmed each section after applying the bleach so it wouldn't transfer onto the next layer, and repeated until they had done every section. They both commented on how fantastic the kit was, as it provided them with everything they needed to achieve a salon-looking result (especially the blending lotion which really contributed to how natural the final look is!).

We left the dye on for about an hour overall, and blowdried the top layers to speed up the bleach so it was the same colour as the rest of the hair as we worked from the bottom to the top. They then held my head over the bath and had great fun absolutely drenching me in water! We used the shampoo/conditioner provided in the kit and I have to comment on how smooth and soft my hair felt afterwards - it literally felt as if I had been to the hairdressers and had a full wash and blowdry!

I am so pleased with the final result - I think it looks really natural but has also given me a nice little refresh in terms of my hair. I'd like to thank Bblonde for sending me this product to try and review, and also my two friends Miranda and Nia without whom this wouldn't have looked anywhere near as neat! Nia even joked that she'd have to charge me next time because they were that professional!
