The 'Me Time' Tag

I was nominated by the lovely Sofie from It's Just Sofie to do this fantastic tag all about what I do during lazy days and 'me time'!

1. What do you watch or read during me-time?

I watch a lot of beauty videos on Youtube but my favourite TV series' are Gossip Girl, New Girl, Pretty Little Liars and The OC. I have already watched every episode of Gossip Girl but I love it so much that I can easily rewatch any episode without getting bored!
Film-wise, if I'm having 'me time' I prefer to watch 'easy' films such as chick flicks or Disney films, my favourites are Tangled, Mean Girls & Moulin Rouge. As I study French I also have a growing collection of French films which I love to watch too, especially Amélie!

If I decide to read, I have two options. I either read something which requires little or no concentration such as a fashion magazine or an easy-reading novel, or I pick up a classic novel and read a few chapters (or the whole book in the case of The Great Gatsby!) My favourite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, Nineteen-Eighty Four and The Catcher in the Rye.

2. What do you wear during me-time?

I usually wear leggings and a big baggy jumper, or my giraffe onesie. No makeup is also a must!

3. What are your me-time beauty products?

I love to pamper myself in 'me time', so I usually have a relaxing bath and apply a face mask. I'm currently loving the Quick Fix Facials Anti-Blemish Mud Mask to calm breakouts and the KIKO Purifying Mask to eliminate shine (plus it smells like sweets!)

4. Current favorite nail polish?

I always love nude shades and occasionally go for a classic red. I don't really have a favourite product but Barry M is always fantastic for nail polishes!

5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?

Chocolate, cake, biscuits, anything inherently bad for you will do! Also, you can't forget the tea.

6. Current favorite candle?

I'm actually not too keen on candle scents, I feel like they smell 'fake' and are often over-sweet/floral!

7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?

Definitely. I love taking a walk in the park by myself while listening to music, walking down to the charity shops or even going shopping in town. I find shopping more efficient and bearable when I'm alone!

8. Would you ever go see a movie alone?

I probably would, but have never found something nobody else wants to watch with me as of yet!

9. Favorite online shop?

Asos, Topshop, H&M, Zara, Boots. I can't pick just one as I spend a lot of time online shopping!

10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?

I have 'me-time' as a way to relax and recharge as day-to-day life can be very busy and stressful with A levels, my blog, friends, family and a boyfriend! I like to completely switch off from the world, which means putting all my work away, putting my phone on airplane mode, and escaping to the world of Blair Waldorf or any other film/TV/book.

Many of you reading this might not actually know much about me, but what better way to get to know someone than reading 50 deeply personal facts about them, right?! 1: What are you wearing? Topshop black coated jeans, white silk shirt, navy blue cashmere jumper & socks with cute little gingerbread men on them.

2: Ever been in love? I believe so.

3: Ever had a terrible breakup? Not really.

4: How tall are you? 5'6" / 168cm.

5: How much do you weigh? ~53kg. (I no longer weigh myself)

6: Any tattoos? No.

7: Any piercings? Just my ears.

8: OTP? Chair. (Chuck & Blair - Gossip Girl)

9: Favourite show? Gossip Girl. (or New Girl or Glee)

10: Favourite bands? Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, TDCC, The Kooks, Daughter, Mumford & Sons, Led Zeppelin, Little Man Tate, The Vaccines, the list could honestly go on forever...

11: Something you miss? Being completely carefree with no responsibilities.

12: Favourite song? Pencil Full of Lead - Paolo Nutini because it is SO HAPPY!

13: How old are you? 16.

14: Zodiac sign? Taurus.

15: Quality you look for in a partner? Honesty & trust, sense of humour, ability to hold an interesting conversation.

16: Favourite Quote? "If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely" - Roald Dahl.

17: Favourite actor? Audrey Tautou or Emma Watson or Clémence Poésy or Natalie Portman.

18: Favourite color? Pink, but I only really wear black/white/grey.

19: Loud music or soft? Depends on my mood, but usually the louder the better.

20: Where do you go when you’re sad? My bed.

21: How long does it take you to shower? ~15 minutes.

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? ~30 minutes.

23: Ever been in a physical fight? No.

24: Turn on? Shirts & other smart clothing, hands in my hair/cradling my face/on my hips when we kiss, complimenting me, smelling nice, spontaneous displays of affection, nice lingerie.

25: Turn off? Bad hygiene & disrespecting women or anyone else for that matter.

26: The reason I joined YouTube? I didn't.

27: Fears? Clowns & Spiders. (but mainly clowns)

28: Last thing that made you cry? Em when she was being all cringey and soppy about our friendship.
 
29: Last time you said you loved someone? Probably today?

30: Meaning behind your YouTube Name? For my blog name: "Joie de vivre" is French for "joy of living" and since I adore French and my blog is mainly about life, I decided to use that but stick my name in it for the lols, then I realised by doing that I was using only the letters from my name which I thought was cool.

31: Last book you read? Lessons from Madame Chic: 20 Stylish Secrets I Learned While Living in Paris - Jennifer L. Scott.

32: The book you’re currently reading? Vernon God Little - DBC Pierre.

33: Last show you watched? Gossip Girl (but in French).

34: Last person you talked to? My mum.

35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted? Emily, one of my best friends.

36: Favourite food? Cheerios/porridge/noodlebox/lindor chocolate. (I can't pick just one)

37: Places you want to visit? Sri Lanka, Thailand, New York, Milan.

39: Do you have a crush? Yeah, on my boyfriend...

40: Last time you kissed someone? Yesterday.

41: Last time you were insulted? Probably today due to the fact I have a little brother.

43: What instruments do you play? Flute, keyboard, ukulele, although all pretty badly.

44: Favourite piece of jewellery? A bracelet made by my boyfriend or a ring from my mum engraved with "live, love, laugh".
